Nasi Gila is one of Jakarta’s most loved street fare, mostly enjoyed late at night where you can find Nasi Gila food carts in corners of the city. A huge wok is used to stir fry the meats and vegetables that are served over white or fried rice. Here we’re using our very own meats to recreate this street food staple!
Steps
- Blend spices in food processor until smooth & set aside.
- In a pan over medium heat, saute the blended spices with cooking oil until fragrant. Add the main ingredients gradually - white cabbage, sliced green onions, sliced Green Rebel, shredded Green Rebel Grilled Chick’n, chopped Green Rebel Shroom Balls, and scrambled tofu (egg substitute). Stir until mixed well with spices.
- Next, add chili sauce, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, salt, sugar, and ground pepper. If you want it extra spicy, add more red chili at the end of the cooking process.
- Serve over warm rice on a plate. Garnish with cucumber, pickles, krupuk, and fried shallots.
